01 The context
Its nine-process Modelo de Acopio Inclusivo PetStar (MAIP) integrates and professionalizes the base of urban waste collectors and pepenadores: it strengthens more than 1,200 micro, small and medium collection centers with training and advisory support, guarantees child-labor-free chains and promotes social mobility. It benefits more than 49,000 urban collectors and recoverers and processes billions of PET bottles per year that are transformed into food-grade recycled resin.
