Description

East African circular economy movement born in Lamu that built the world's first dhow (traditional sailing boat) made 100% from recycled plastic, cladding it with 30,000 flip-flops recovered from the coast. It combines heritage boatbuilding, a Material Recovery Facility, an artisan training centre and public policy campaigns against single-use plastic.
