01 The context
45 women aged 27 to 70) that combines sustainable piangua harvesting with the ecological restoration of the mangroves of the Nariño Pacific coast. They practice community-based restoration (Community Based Ecological Mangrove Restoration) grounded in ancestral knowledge of patch rotation and reinforced with reforestation: they have planted mangrove seedlings to recover the estuaries on which their food and income depend. It is community-based climate adaptation with a gender focus and a solidarity economy approach.
