Kudumbashree collective (group) farming by women

Description

Women's collective farming program under Kudumbashree, the Government of Kerala's poverty eradication mission. Joint liability groups (JLGs) of women, many landless, lease and farm land in common, accessing credit, inputs and markets collectively. Around 61,836 JLGs and ~280,000 women farm approx. 38,706 hectares. Bina Agarwal's research showed they significantly outperform the net returns of individual farms.
