Community circular economy in San Andrés Cholula
Initiative that combines the creation of the first municipal regulation in Puebla (second in Mexico) with mandatory, standardized waste separation, with a support process for citizen groups to build collective circular economy ventures.

Through virtual workshops (16 groups, 51 participants) and more than 90 hours of mentoring, social CANVAS methodology and design thinking were applied so that residents, waste recoverers and microenterprises could design circular business models and collaborative inclusive recycling networks.

The IIMA academic denounced in February 2022 that the municipality halted the implementation of waste management with the change of administration: without sustained municipal will, the regulation and the community ventures lose traction. The design depended too much on the political backing of one administration.
