Description

SEWA cluster farming initiative for small and marginal women farmers in Gujarat. Women farmers group together to increase their bargaining power, buy inputs collectively, access markets and add value. In a cluster of 100 potato farmers, solar cold storage (10 MT) and machinery to produce potato chips were installed, allowing them to sell at the optimal time (INR 14/kg instead of 7/kg) and raise gross margins from 50% to 75%.
