DemoLab / deliberative citizen assemblies (Extituto de Política Abierta)

DemoLab is the public innovation and open government lab of the Bogotá City Council, created in 2020 by the Council with allies (Fundación Corona, Extituto de Política Abierta, Ideemos, FESCOL, NIMD, Fundación Avina, Diseño Público).

01 The context

First public innovation lab within a representative body in Colombia. It promoted the first Itinerant Citizen Assembly (2020, recognized by the OECD in 2021) and 'Concejo a la Casa'. In 2024 the #SumemosVoces Deliberative Assembly gathered 60 citizens selected by lot (25 Sep 2024) out of 51,163 invited, who deliberated from 18 to 21 October 2024.
