Description
Free coding school for refugees and displaced people, founded in Amsterdam in 2015 by Gijs Corstens. Part-time program of about 9 months of web development (one day in person, the rest online self-study) taught by volunteer mentors from the industry, with job coaching. More than 500 graduates in the Netherlands, 425+ alumni working in Dutch tech and 1.000+ alumni worldwide; the model was replicated in Denmark and Belgium. The Danish branch is documented by the European Commission's DG for Migration; a cited evaluation (LG Insight 2021) reports a 71% graduation rate.
