Mercados Campesinos (Central Region of Colombia)

Direct marketing and short-supply-chain process that brings food from peasant farmers in Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Tolima and Meta to Bogotá, eliminating intermediaries and paying a fair price.

01 The context

It was born in 2004 with ILSA and Oxfam, and is coordinated with the SDDE and the Peasant and Communal Dialogue Committee (CICC). It combines sales in public squares with political advocacy for food sovereignty and security.
