Description
The largest citizen cooperative wind farm in the Netherlands, developed by the Deltawind and Zeeuwind cooperatives on the Krammer locks, between three Natura 2000 areas. It consists of 34 Enercon E-115 turbines (102 MW), operational since 2019 and inaugurated by King Willem-Alexander in May 2019, financed by more than 4.000 members and corporate PPA buyers (Google, AkzoNobel, DSM, Philips). The cooperatives own 60% and Kallista Energy 40% since 2021. It includes the DTBird system, which stops turbines when a protected bird approaches. A windfonds redistributes profits to the community.
