Description

The Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan organizes jan sunwais (public hearings) in which official records of public works and welfare programs, obtained through the right to information, are read aloud and checked against the reality of the villages to expose corruption and wage theft. Started in Rajsamand in the early 1990s, it is the direct origin of the RTI movement and of the social audit now mandatory in MGNREGA.
