Codeando México

Civic technology (civic hacking) community and organization founded in 2013 out of a hackathon team, on the premise that technologists can create technology to solve public problems.

01 The context

It drove the #app115 challenge (2013), organized the technology response to the 2017 earthquakes, and maintains open source projects such as DataMX, Retos Cívicos and the Socorro chatbot. In 2016 it spun off its development arm into the company Cívica Digital. Still active: GitHub with recent activity (ecozonas-app-mapeo Dec 2025, codeandomexico.github.io April 2026).
