Phool (flowercycling of temple flower waste)Social enterprise founded in 2017 by Ankit Agarwal (Kanpur Flowercycling Pvt. Ltd.) on the outskirts of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It collects tonnes of offering flowers from temples that used to be dumped into the Ganges and converts them through a patented process (flowercycling) into charcoal-free incense, gulaal for Holi, compost and Fleather, a vegan leather made from floral biomass. It creates formal employment with benefits for women from marginalized communities. It operates in five temple cities (Kanpur, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Bodh Gaya, Badrinath) and has collected more than 13,000 tonnes of flower waste.● Scaled· scale subnational
