Description
Participatory budgeting of West Pokot County that brings deliberation down to the sub-location level (222 sub-locations), especially for remote and marginalized communities. It uses open public forums, preferential voting and consensus, selection of delegates for ward-level validation, and feedback mechanisms on implementation. The first phase (2016) gathered more than 11,500 participants; women's participation grew from 2,257 (2014/15) to 10,173 (2016/17).
