Zorgcooperatie Nederland (cooperative collaboration)Energiebank NederlandNational network of local energy banks that helps households in energy poverty. Founded in 2016 by Barry Jansen, who conceived the idea during a leadership training while working at Alliander, in collaboration with local actors (Humanitas, the municipality of Arnhem, Voedselbank and social welfare). It operates with volunteers (energiecoaches) supported by professionals, with about 27 local banks in cities such as Amsterdam, Den Haag, Rotterdam, Groningen and Arnhem. The coaches make repeated home visits to advise on savings and behavior change, with evidence of reduced bills and improved comfort.CoronaMelderNational COVID-19 exposure notification app of the Dutch Ministry of Health (VWS), launched nationwide on October 10, 2020 as a digital complement to contact tracing by the GGDs. Built on the Google/Apple exposure notification framework with a privacy-by-design approach and its own temporary legal basis. It was continuously evaluated by an independent consortium led by Wolfgang Ebbers (Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam). It was put on pause on April 22, 2022 and minister Ernst Kuipers withdrew it definitively in September 2022 by not extending the enabling law (Tijdelijke wet notificatieapplicatie covid-19, in force until October 10, 2022).SyRI (Systeem Risico Indicatie)State system for detecting social benefits fraud that since 2014 cross-referenced personal data from multiple databases (municipalities, UWV, the tax authority, Social Affairs) with a hidden algorithmic risk model to flag 'unlikely profiles'. It was applied mainly in low-income and minority neighborhoods. A civil rights coalition led by Platform Bescherming Burgerrechten sued it ('Bij Voorbaat Verdacht' campaign). On February 5, 2020 the court of The Hague ordered it to be halted for violating art. 8 of the ECHR, due to lack of transparency and insufficient safeguards.
