Precious PlasticOpen-source system of machines, blueprints and tools that lets anyone start recycling plastic locally.Nashira ecovillageSelf-sustaining ecovillage in Palmira (Valle del Cauca) built by and for women heads of household, many of them victims of the armed conflict or of domestic violence. The women built their houses with recycled materials (rubble panels, ecological bricks), operate their own water systems, organic farming, community recycling (a recycling plant, the village's most profitable business) and dozens of productive units, with a gift economy and consensus decision-making. It combines circular economy, decent housing, adaptation and women's empowerment.Wormenhotels / Le CompostierNetwork of 'worm hotels' (wormenhotels): purpose-designed community boxes that house thousands of worms and turn neighbours' organic waste (gft-afval) into compost, closing the nutrient loop within the neighbourhood. Rowin Snijder (Le Compostier) has driven the model since 2014, with the first wormenhotel on Frans Halsstraat (De Pijp, Amsterdam); the Amsterdam municipality adopted a standard design. By June 2024 Amsterdam had about 200 hotels (with ~300 people on the waiting list), each serving up to 30 households, and the model has been replicated in at least 11-12 Dutch cities (Rotterdam, The Hague, Eindhoven, Haarlem, Hilversum).
